32.2g Trapiche Citrine from Kazakhstan
Approx. Dimensions: 2.5×1.5×0.25 inches

Locality: Katbar, Kazakhstan
A trapiche is a milling wheel used to process sugar cane in South America. Certain formations in gemstones and crystals look like the spokes of the milling wheel, so they have been given the name “trapiche”. Minerals that form with a radiating star of inclusions between growth sectors are considered to be trapiche minerals. According to the International Gem Society, all true trapiche gems contain inclusions of organic matter.

While not technically considered a true trapiche stone, this polished slice of citrine from Kazakhstan shows zoning that resembles a trapiche gem. This is a cross-section of a single crystal point, and while both faces have been polished, the sides of the crystal are unpolished. This is a natural citrine with a very deep honey color.

Acrylic stand and putty are not included, but this piece does come in a membrane box so it can be easily displayed in your collection.
