This is a completely natural cluster that is considered a “floater”. The bottom of this cluster is completely terminated, and also has the black tourmaline phantoms on many of the terminations. There is very minimal damage to one tip on the top of the cluster.
From Bahia, Brazil, Black Phantom Lemurians have been claimed to have inclusions of many different minerals. We wanted a definitive answer, so we sent a sample of this material to the lab for testing. It was determined that the black phantoms are inclusions of Elbaite-Schorl Tourmaline, otherwise known as black tourmaline! A very interesting combination, and one that should have a place in any collection of quartz.
