Krishna took countless wives in his life, but never married his deepest love Radha.  Krishna believed love and marriage were two separate things.  Marriage is an arrangement, and love is a selfless emotion.  Radha was lost in “Bhakti Love,” she loved him as a God and he loved her as a devotee.  It has been said their love went deeper than soulmates because they in fact shared the same soul.  This is in part why their names have been fused together as one just like their shared soul.  They are one entity bound by eternal love, not physical love, but deep, spiritual, transcendental love.

Keeping a statue of Radha-Krishna can be a reminder in our own spiritual practice of the oneness that exists between God, the Universe, and everything within.  When we give love selflessly we are then open to receiving this kind of love in return.  If we begin to embrace our oneness with Spirit we can move toward living our own version of the Radha-Krishna love story.
